We are looking for compassionate individuals to help with weekly cleaning tasks to ensure our rescued rats remain healthy and well cared for. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and be available to volunteer for a minimum of 2-hours each week for at least a 6-month term.
Responsibilities include cleaning cages and accessories; arranging bedding and toys; socializing rats and spending time with current residents (petting and/or playing with them); checking food and water, keeping the Rat Room tidy and organized, and organizing extra cages and supplies.
In this role you will also have the opportunity to participate in medicating the rats by mixing meds with baby cereal and hand feeding sick rats on an early day shift, or late afternoon/early evening shift any number of days each week.
By volunteering you will have the opportunity to earn service hours and add valuable experience to your resume and successful volunteers will be eligible for reference letters for employment and school. Not only do the rats benefit, but our volunteers do as well!
We are excited to hear from you and discover how you can play a part in our growing organization!
