ASSEMBLY VOLUNTEER TRAINING FRIDAY JAN 13 FROM 11:30 TO 1 AT OUR DOWNTOWN SF OFFICE. Reply and we'll send you an invitation.
Do you enjoy public speaking, performing or teaching? Are you comfortable talking before an audience of elementary, middle or high school students? Do you know how to motivate and work with kids and teachers? Do you have a flexible schedule that would allow you to make presentations to schools in the morning? Do you have your own transportation? Are you passionate about fighing cancer? We could use your help!
As an "Assembly Volunteer" you can inspire kids to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society find cures when presenting to schools that have agreed to participate in our annual "Pennies for Patients" and "Collect for Cures" fundraising programs. We can provide training, materials, scheduling and support. With your help we can reach kids and raise more for cancer research and patient programs.
We can match you to schools near where you live or work. We're looking for volunteers who can help make between 8-16 30-minute assemblies between January and April 2017.

We also welcome appreciate office volunteers to pitch in with phone calls and other admin tasks at our downtown SF office

Mission Statement
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.
Description
Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.
In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Greater San Francisco Bay Area Chapter was founded in 1972 and serves Bay Area residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The Chapter's San Francisco office serves San Francisco, Marin, Alameda and Contra Costa counties. The Chapter's Redwood Wine Country branch office serves Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Lake, Mendocino and Humboldt counties.
