Are you are interested in health and in helping others? Join American Bone Health and YMCA on Saturday, September 24th. You can help in a variety of areas, from registration to screening. The four-hour event includes the validated ABC-6 tool that measures the relationship to balance impairment and falls in older adults and the following assessments:
- Strength- participants sit in a chair and without using their hands they will stand and sit five times while they are being timed. This is a great indication of their lower body strength.
- Balance- participants will stand near a chair or wall and will pick up their leg and hold it off of the ground while they are timed. This measures their risk of falling.

Description
As a non-profit resource center, we are dedicated to preventing osteoporosis through research and education of the public and medical community to increase awareness of risk, prevention and treatment. Our education programs include lectures which you may discover in the website.
