Jubilee Farm Volunteer
General Description:
Jubilee Farm is a community garden that provides food to multiple food pantries in the Gainesville area, including Good News at Noon, the Salvation Army, Georgia Mountain Food Bank, and Junior Service League of Gainesville. Master Gardeners from the University of Georgia extension office supervise the garden.
The garden is located at the corner of Davis and Pine streets in Gainesville, GA.
Two shifts are available for this position: Wednesdays from 9am to 11am and Saturdays from 9am to 11am.
Responsibilities:
The volunteer will assist in various tasks in the garden, including, but not limited to, picking vegetables, weeding, planting, and weighing picked vegetables.

Skills and Abilities:
Possess good communication skills
Have a positive attitude
Physical Requirements:
Be able to lift 25 pounds
Be able to stand for two hours

The Georgia Department of Public health consists of 18 Health districts and 159 county health departments. District 2 Public Health is made up of the 13 counties in the northeastern most portion of Georgia and includes Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White Counties.

District 2 Public health provides an array of services and programs to protect the health of residents and promote healthy lifestyles in our 13 county area. Services include clinical programs like immunizations, child health checks, and women’s health. Environmental health programs include food service inspections, tourist accommodations inspections, and individual sewage system permits
