Sunshine Seniors Volunteer
General Description:
Sunshine Seniors is a 501-C3 non-profit organization under the Fair Street Butler High Alumni Association that seeks to help seniors 65 years and older and those who may be homebound, but mobile, make the quality of their lives healthier, full of meaning and fill them with new and exciting experiences.
Responsibilities:
The volunteer will assist in the unloading, sorting and distribution of food Tuesdays from 2pm to 5pm at St. John Baptist Church (731 EE Butler Parkway, Gainesville, GA 30501).
Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities:
Possess good communication skills
Have a positive attitude
Physical Requirements:
Be able to lift 25 pounds
Be able to stand for two hours

The Georgia Department of Public health consists of 18 Health districts and 159 county health departments. District 2 Public Health is made up of the 13 counties in the northeastern most portion of Georgia and includes Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White Counties.

District 2 Public health provides an array of services and programs to protect the health of residents and promote healthy lifestyles in our 13 county area. Services include clinical programs like immunizations, child health checks, and women’s health. Environmental health programs include food service inspections, tourist accommodations inspections, and individual sewage system permits
