a) Professional counselors capable of preparing the psychological training materials for Life Target’s hotline operator team, whose mission is the prevention of violence and homicide.

b) Professional counselors capable of preparing an appropriate operating manual for Life Target’s live chat operators whose mission is the prevention of violence and homicide

LIFE TARGET, based in NYC ( www.lifetarget.org) would love you to join us! We are a new non-profit 501(c)3 organization looking for passionate change-makers who would donate their time to help set-up a violence and homicide prevention hotline to open at the beginning of 2017!

Are you a self-motivated, innovative, and results-oriented person?

Life Target plans to create a group of diverse mental health specialists to train and prepare:

• Future operators working for Life Target Hotline including:

The best ways to speak to each caller and counsel their need for immediate help, as well as set up systems so as to be able to offer future support and long-term counseling.

Mental Health Professional Position Requirements:

• Master's level degree, licensed or working toward licensure (minimum) in counseling, social work, or related field. Two years of experience is also preferable.

Mental Health Professional Responsibilities:

• Having a precedent experience in crisis prevention, a definite plus

• Liaise with Life Target’s legal team.
• Be open to contribute their ideas with other Life Target staff/volunteers so as to create the best intervention assistance for any situation a caller is facing.

• Prepare, maintain and update training documentation for counselors/operators.
• Commitment to volunteer for a minimum of 8 consecutive months

• Be on-call in the event he/she is needed by another counselor or staff member. In this way, the mental health professional will do his or her best to meet with each counselor individually throughout the week for "counselor brainstorm sessions" including the President of Life Target.
