We're neighbors helping neighbors- we can all get out safely with the power of us!
Evacuteer.org is a nonprofit organization based in New Orleans that recruits and trains volunteers to provide hurricane preparedness and City-Assisted Evacuation (CAE) information to the community. Our Evacuation Volunteers ("Evacuteers") also help facilitate the CAE in the case of a mandatory evacuation.
Beat the heat this summer and help us make phone calls in our super-cool air-conditioned office! There will be a brief orientation to the project on Monday 8/1, and a few hours of making phone calls that week (depending on volunteer availability). Here are the outreach projects we have going on right now: 1) The LSPCA needs our help calling special needs registrants (individuals with special medical needs who will need assistance evacuating in a mandatory evacuation) who will also need assistance evacuating their pets. 2) We also need help calling our 2015 Evacuteers to ask them to serve with us again in 2016, so that we can reach our target of 500 Evacuteers by peak hurricane season! We're hoping that we can tackle both of these outreach needs in the same week, but that will only be possible with your help! :) In your response please indicate your availability the week of 8/1 - 8/5. Our office is conveniently located in Mid-City on St. Philip and N. White (just off Broad Street).More opportunities with Evacuteer.org
