Stewardship Partners is seeking a summer intern to share our programs and stories at strategic community events throughout Puget Sound from August through mid-September. Hours will vary, but will average 8 hours per week. An ideal candidate will enjoy the opportunity to represent the organization by doing community "tabling" for a variety of audiences in settings ranging from farmers' markets to community fairs and public meetings. Compensation is $200 per month and academic credit can be arranged. The intern will work closely with the Communications Manager and Program Associate to both seek out events and to ensure that our outreach table is staffed.
Desired Qualifications:
Interest and enthusiasm for sharing programs that help landowners improve the environment for people and wildlife
A degree in environmental science, communications or a related field preferred, but not required
Willingness to make the occasional cold-call or pursue an outreach opportunity when presented to you
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Self-starter - ability to gather materials and work-offsite, at times with minimal supervision
The ability to work individually and part of a team
A cheerful demeanor
The ability to lift 30 lbs.
