The horticultural support program is a hands-on program that is perfect for the rugged volunteer who is eager to get their hands dirty with tasks such as: sweeping pathways, raking moss, picking blossoms, clearing away weeds, and pulling ivy.
Volunteer Shifts are 4 hours long (8am to 12pm) and are available on Mondays only.
Essential Duties:
- weeding
- raking
- sweeping
- ivy pulls
- pond clean-up
- No pruning involved.
Position requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend over, and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift small loads of 10 lbs or less.
- Minimum volunteer commitment of 1 year required.
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative work environment
- Enjoy working outside in all types of weather.
Position Preferences:
- Interest in Japanese culture and history, or landscape design and horticulture.
