About Open House Chicago 2016:

The Chicago Architecture Foundation's sixth-annual Open House Chicago is a citywide behind-the-scenes look at many of Chicago’s most fascinating places and spaces. On October 15-16, 2016, participants will have free access to 200+ buildings not normally open to the public, including stunning skyscrapers, opulent theaters, exclusive private clubs, repurposed mansions and more.

The Chicago Architecture Foundation inspires people to discover why design matters. To learn more about CAF’s other programs, visit architecture.org.

How you can help:

Last year, Volunteer Greeters welcomed 85,000 OHC guests to 200 Sites in just two days. We are hoping to beat that record this October, and we need your help! CAF is looking for Volunteer Greeters to staff 200+ Sites throughout the city, where they will greet visitors, track attendance and answer general questions. Training is provided before the event.

Shifts available:

  • Saturday, October 15th: 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm

  • Sunday, October 16th: 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm

All volunteers receive:

  • An Open House Chicago 2016 t-shirt

  • A Priority Access Pass for two to skip the lines at all Open House Chicago 2016 sites

  • 15% discount at the CAF shop

  • 50% off a CAF Membership

  • Two free CAF walking tour passes

Most importantly, Volunteer Greeters are an integral part of one of the city's biggest cultural events!
