Help children learn about nature while maintaining the 4-H Club farm located at the Miller Street Farm in Montclair.


Volunteer tasks include:

  • Maintaining garden beds, planting, weeding, composting
  • Pruning trees
  • Building garden bed strcutures and maintaining equipment
  • Raking and turning soil and compost
  • Organizing and labeling gardening materals
  • Working with younger children involved in the night service
Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and clothes they don't mind getting dirty! This volunteer opportunity is rain or shine.

NOTE: To participate in this project
you must be a Jersey Cares volunteer.

Jersey Cares works to meet community needs by making volunteering easy and meaningful. Jersey Cares works directly with local organizations to identify their needs, and trains volunteer leaders to manage projects that address those needs. Most projects are ongoing, and volunteers (other than the Project Coordinators) commit to only one day at a time. All of this enables you to volunteer whenever and however fits your interests and schedule, and yet always make a real difference.
