Our Midland County Foster Children are in need of help! When children are removed from their home and put in foster care, they are still able to visit their parents. Midland County Court determines the amount of weekly visits the parents have with their children. We are in need of volunteers who will supervise their visits that range from 1-2 hours. These visits are typically held in the DHHS office, but can go offsite to McDonalds or the library at some times. You will need to be able to observe and take notes to send to the children's caseworker. At times, you may need to transport the children to and from visitation. DHHS provides the car seats. We have over 100 children in care and are in need of more volunteers asap!
You will need to set up and interview with Andi Ayres. She will send paperwork and conduct interview. Below is what we require as a volunteer:
3 letters of reference
Central Registry Clearance-to ensure you have never abused or neglected children
Michigan Ichat-to ensure you are not a criminal in our state
Public Sex Offender Registry
Secretary of State
Please help with this opportunity!
