Mission Statement

At the Center for Comprehensive Health Practice, we believe that comprehensive, family-focused care is an important tool in improving one’s health and well-being. Through a model of physical and behavioral health, early childhood development, and substance use treatment services, our staff treats all the needs of our patients in one office setting. Through a welcoming environment, combined with our kind, compassionate and experienced staff, CCHP provides a unique setting that feels more like a community than a traditional doctor’s office.

Description

CCHP is incorporated in New York State as a not-for-profit entity and is governed by a Board of Directors. CCHP is licensed by the New York State Department of Health as an Article 28 diagnostic and treatment center. Substance abuse services are provided under licenses from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. Medical student education is conducted under an academic affiliation with New York Medical College.

The communities most directly served are located in Upper Manhattan and the South Bronx. The aim is to serve the broader community, but with a special concern for people who are poor and/or underserved because of the kinds of problems they face. The Center is dedicated not only to serving individuals but also to focusing on their interactions with others, especially their families. Attention is given both to the special problems families sometimes present and to the unique support family members often have to offer each other.
