The Department of Public Works is seeking volunteers to assist seniors and disabled residents in removing snow from sidewalks this winter.
When snow accumulates on sidewalks residents have 48 hours to remove the snow before they may be issued a fine. Some residents in the city are not physically able to remove the snow.
By volunteering you will help vulnerable populations prevent large fines and keep the sidewalks cleared for many resident as sidewalks are used by people even during the winter months.
The Department of Public Works will attempt to keep volunteers within their zip code or neighborhood association for convenience.
