RN/LPN Nurse Station Volunteer for Youth Haven Camps

Seeking RNs and LPNs to assist at the nurse's station for Youth Haven Program's 2016 Kids Camp in Frederick MD. Volunteers will perform precamp assessments, first aid, health workshops and administer medications. The camp runs from August 2nd to August 7th, with precamp prep and registration starting July 30th. Volunteers are not needed for all dates listed. Shifts are flexible. We will work with your schedule. Orientation begins July 28th. The must have: general nursing skills, current nursing license for MD and/or DC, current BLS for health care providers card, background check. Previous experience with pediatrics a plus but not required.

The LSS/NCA Refugee & Immigrant Services program provides support and services including reception, resettlement and employment services for refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking.

Our current activities include:
Reception and Placement: Currently, we are welcoming refugees from: Burma, Liberia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Early Self-Sufficiency Program: Combines private donations with federal matching funds to provide an alternative to welfare for new arrivals. The goal is to find employment for the refugee as soon as possible.
