If you like people, want to help disadvantaged youth and people who are trying to make a difference in the community, you are the person we are looking for. Our counselors help young people with problems make a successful life for themselves. We need people who care and want to give back and make a better world.
We need someone to aid our extremely busy Executive Director, as well as our counselors at our Columbia City office. They need help scheduling meetings and client appointments, managing the phones, and organizing and maintaining files. Would like someone with basic Word skills, including MS Office.
We would like to have the front desk managed for 4 hours 3 days a week. This can be 3 different individuals or one person. If you can only do 4 hours on one day a week, that's fine. If you have your own laptop, that would be a big help.
Columbia City is a lively, interesting neighborhood to work in, with lots of good restaurants and coffee shops and community activity. This would be a great job for a student or retired person who is interested in helping disadvantaged youth make a better life for themselves.

Matumaini Counseling is a nonprofit organization that empowers black and other underserved youth by providing the support and services they deserve. Description
Matumaini Counseling provides in-depth, "wrap-around" mental health counseling with clients and those who care about them. "Wrap-around" service coordinates treatment planning with community organizations, schools, social services agencies and criminal justice agencies. It provides a range of counseling modalities, such as art therapy, recreational therapy, individual and group therapy, and family therapy. It provides workshops and summer camps on athletics, community building, and alternatives to youth gang violence.
