According specificially to CASA of San Mateo County, in the last fiscal year - 19% of advocates were male and 81% were female. Regarding to both statistics, there is a significantly higher rate of female volunteer's versus male volunteer's.

CASA of San Mateo County wants to change this statistic!

CASA of San Mateo County are Court Appointed Special Advocates giving a foster child a voice in the court room. CASA advocates create a one-on-one, consistent relationship with the child they serve. They also mentor the child through out the time the child is under the court's supervision.

Male Mentor's can change and empower a young man's life and be a positive role model for that child. Currently, many male children are left without a CASA advocate due to lack of male volunteers.
