Green Block Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that creates sustainable urban agriculture. Our mission, Green Block Project empowers communities with the resources to build and maintain short-term community gardens on unused land throughout the United States as well as workshops on micro gardens, food preservation and food preparation.

Green Block Project is looking for new board members with a passion for fundraising, business management, marketing/outreach, volunteer coordination and social media! Specifically, we are looking for people with technical, marketing or business skills to join our board and support our cause.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in all meetings via web conference.
  • Participate in planning of events, fundraising,
  • Promote Green Block Project mission and programs

Time Commitment: Approx. 5 hours - 3-month quarterly.

Our mission is to bring temporary fruit and vegetable community gardens and micro garden workshops to urban communities. We work towards improving the lives of residents, neighborhoods and to beautify areas where properties are empty and available. The Green Block Project seeks to form a coalition of neighbors, local businesses, civic leaders, local farms and private enterprise to promote healthy lifestyles by making fresh fruits and vegetables available to the communities.

Planting the seed of sustainability one neighborhood at a time, Providing the knowledge and ability to garden where space is an issue, To transform neighborhoods by teaching community members how to micro garden in their own homes and partnering with property owners, residents, and local businesses to provide temporary fruit and vegetable community gardens from on vacant land.
