Volunteer Check-In Co-Leads Needed for Portland Winter Light Festival

The Portland Winter Light Festival is looking for a few volunteers to join the Volunteer Check-In Team as a Co-Lead.

The Volunteer Check-In Co-Lead will oversee the Volunteer Check-in area, as well as train and empower the 2 Volunteer Check-in Volunteers on a simplified, digital check-in process.

Volunteer check-in will occur at both HUB A and HUB B:

  • HUB A Volunteer Check-In: located inside OMSI, 1945 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR
  • HUB B Volunteer Check-In: located inside World Trade Center, 26 SW Salmon Street, Portland, OR
  • HUB A has 2 Volunteer Check-In Co-Leads.
  • HUB B has 1 Volunteer Check-In Co-Lead.
Each Volunteer Check-In area acts as the hospitality zone for both volunteers and artists.

The Volunteer Check-In Co-Lead shifts are from 4pm-midnight, Feb 1st-3rd.

Volunteer Check-in Leads will be trained prior to Festival by Volunteer Coordinator, Meghan Bursiek. During Festival support will be provided via radio, phone, and in-person. Meghan will rotate between HUB A and HUB B.

Helpful Skills
● Box Office or Event Registration experience
● Ability to empower volunteers
● Experience leading a team
● Comfortable with a rush of activity during check-in times
● Experience with VolunteerLocal.com or an interest to learn

Helpful if Co-Lead has a laptop to use during shift.

The festival brightens up the winter skyline and brings warmth to the outdoors with dazzling displays of light, color, and imagination. Bundle up and celebrate with us!

The Portland Winter Light Festival is interactive, family-friendly, and designed to inspire adults and kids alike. Combining art and technology, people of all ages will find something to capture their spirit and fill their minds with imagination and wonder.
