We are in need of male mentors to volunteer for our Man UP Mentoring Program (at least one who is fluent in both English and Spanish). The program runs for 12 consecutive weeks, then starts over for a another 12 weeks with a new group of boys. Volunteers can volunteer for one 12 week session or continue throughout the year.
Each volunteer should be willing to work with low income minority youth between the ages of 11-18 and should be available on Thursdays between the hours of 5:30 and 8:30pm. However, each volunteer meets with his group for 1 hour in length. You may choose your hour within that time frame. You will also need to be availble one Saturday out of a month for trips or other activities lasting for 2-4 hours at a time.
If you are that person and can pass a criminal background check, consider joing our efforts to keep youth out of the criminal justice system. For more information on this program, potential volunteers can go to www.thehopeproject3.org and click on programs.
