Create a tech program for Afghan girls

ChickTech is a multi-generational community supporting women and girls to become technology creators. We are dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of girls pursuing technology-based careers. Our programs build community, empower participants to see themselves as technologists and leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry. We also work one-on-one with companies to help them create more inclusive workplace cultures.

ChickTech is currently in the US and is expanding internationally. We are researching how to bring a ChickTech program to Afghanistan. It is very important to us that we create a sustainable program that is adapted to a culture respectfully and in an empowering way. Our organization is very volunteer-oriented, and we are building a strong volunteer team to explore the idea of a yearlong ChickTech program for high school girls in Kabul, Afghanistan.

We are looking to fill multiple volunteer roles to help this project succeed:

• Project manager to help organize and move the project forward

• Volunteers to help raise funds to support this program (funding for both the US part of creating and managing the program and for the on-the-ground costs in Kabul)

• Legal and accounting help to set up as an entity in Afghanistan and ensure funding is handled appropriately

• Cultural advisors to ensure that our program respects cultural and/or religious differences

• Curriculum and program development talent to envision and create the program

• A volunteer to lead organization and business partnerships to create a more robust program
