Skilled writers meet with patients who desire to create a written work. This may include a life story, ethical will, memoire or letters. The Stories of the Heart Program understands that a large part of the process involves reminiscing and story-telling. This process alone can be greatly beneficial to the patient. The keepsake created is given to the family when completed. Writers are required to complete appropriate Hospice Volunteer training and requirements. Mentoring is available. Necessary tools to complete the projects are provided. Time frame for each assignment varies.
