Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
New Directions Travel for people with disabilities, inc. is looking for chaperones to supervise adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities on vacation travel! Experience working with people with disabilities preferred, but not required.
Requirements include having a respect for people with disabilities, a love for travel, a professional appearance and pleasant disposition, ability to communicate well, accurate attention to detail, able to work long days and still have a top notch attitude. Further requirements will include CPR/First Aid certification, able to lift 50 pounds, reference and background checks, able to drive vans, and a clean DMV record, etc.
Hiring now for over trips throughout 2019. Some of the fun places we travel to are: Disneyland, Cruises, Dude Ranches, Universal Studios, Las Vegas, Baseball Spring Training in Phoenix, and Hawaii, and many more.
Position is part-time and flexible. You let us know which trips you are available for. You can do as few as one trip a year up to 15. We are based in Santa Barbara, but have a need for chaperones from all over California.
