Mission Statement

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Martin County brings people together to build Homes, Communities, and Hope.

Description

Habitat For Humanity is part of an international Christian movement dedicated to providing affordable, safe housing. With generous donations of funds, materials, time and talent, homes are built and sold to low-income families on the basis of need, ability to pay, willingness to partner--all without racial or religious discrimination. No profit is added, and no interest is charged on the mortgages held by the partner families. As they are helped, families are encouraged to help others and help themselves by completing 300 sweat equity hours of volunteerism. Habitat provides a Hand Up, not a hand-out, that empowers local families in need to break the cycle of poverty in their families and in their community.
