Book Sorting - we sort boxes of books by grade and by fiction or non-fiction. We also weed out the books that are not age appropriate, too damaged for us to repair or religious books.
Book Cleaning - once books have been sorted we then repair/clean them by removing price tags, repairing torn pages, covering up writings, etc..
The skills listed are not a requirement but experience in these fields could be helpful.
We will be meeting in the portable building, P1 facing N. Bluff Dr. Look for our banner. You can park in the teacher's parking lot.More opportunities with Texas Kids Read

Supporting early childhood literacy.
Description
Texas Kids Read (formally The Literacy Plus Project) gives books to students in Title 1 schools to encourage them to read. We give them 5-8 books just before the Summer break in an effort to keep them at their current reading level when they return to school in August.
Our volunteers clean the books that are donated and we recieve 90% of our books thru donations.
