The Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage is accepting applications for new Docents. Join our elite team of of museum educators! You have the power to inspire life-long learning, preserve history, and serve your community!

Our Docents...

  • Have an interest in and knowledge of Arcadia and California history
  • Display sensitivity and understanding when working with diverse audiences
  • Have an interest in museum education/ interpretation techniques and practices
  • Enjoy interacting with people; especially children
  • Possess the ability to learn and share accurate information
  • Are comfortable with public speaking
  • Have a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Are flexible and able to improvise
  • Are able to command attention and lead groups
  • Have a compatible schedule

Mission Statement

The mission of the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage is to collect, preserve and recognize Arcadia's heritage; to create a shared identity for a diverse community; and to celebrate the City's rich history with exhibits and educational programs that will encourage community involvement.

Description

The Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage is a small, local heritage museum. Through it's mission, the Gilb supports local schools by offering complementary programming to meet state and local curriculum standards in history and social science. The Museum also offers programming for local community members who are interested in the history and contemporary culture of the city of Arcadia.
