Summary of the opportunity: A Volunteer Greeter is responsible for welcoming patrons to the museum, and ensuring all patrons receive information regarding the museum and its programs. Volunteer Greeters will also be responsible for handing out brochures and any other materials necessary. You will have to opportunity to interact with the public in spreading the mission of the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami, and will need to be comfortable taking direction and working unassisted.
Responsibilities:
-Provide information to patrons with respect to the museum, programs, and exhibits
-Welcoming all patrons to the museum
-Provide any additional directional information regarding the design district
-Assist with data entry or any other administrative duties as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
-Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual
-Exudes an outgoing and pleasant attitude
-Outgoing personalities who are enthusiastic at welcoming and facilitating patrons within the museum exhibits
-A professional and positive approach to volunteering
-Strong interest in the visual arts, preferrably contemporary art.
-Bilingual volunteers preferred, but not required (Spanish, French)
Time Commitment:
-Greeters needed Tuesday through Sundays: 11 am- 3 pm
-Greeters are required to volunteer one shift a week for at least the duration of an exhibition (generally 3-4 month commitment)
Benefits:
Selected volunteers will be provided with an annual individual membership to the museum, as well as, invitation to docent trainings and an ICA Volunteer welcome bag.
