  • Represent health care access issues through their participation in public forums such as town hall meetings.
  • Educate and advocate on specific access-to-care principles and priorities with health care stakeholders in their home states. 
  • Contribute to important NPAF advocacy campaigns through outreach to explain the missions of PAF and NPAF. 
  • President's Council members also have the opportunity to attend NPAF's national training summits to enhance their advocacy skills.

They are dedicated, passionate people with knowledge and experience in health care.

Mission Statement

National Patient Advocate Foundation is a national non-profit organization providing the patient voice in improving access to, and reimbursement for, high-quality healthcare through regulatory and legislative reform at the state and federal levels. NPAF translates the experience of millions of patients who have been helped by our companion, Patient Advocate Foundation, which provides professional case management services to individuals facing barriers to healthcare access for chronic and disabling disease, medical debt crisis and employment-related issues at no cost.

Description

The National Patient Advocate Foundation (NPAF) serves as the trusted voice for patients suffering from chronic, debilitating and life-threatening illness. The experience of patients who receive direct patient assistance and support services from our companion organization, Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) inform and influence the advocacy activities of NPAF.

Volunteers, NPAF staff, members of our Executive Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Committee members, along with external consultants comprise NPAF’s organizational structure. These individuals collaborate to develop patient-centric policy recommendations that the organization provides to both federal and state officials to promote patients’ access to affordable, quality health coverage.
