Cornerstone Assistance Network wants to place a Development and Fundraising Coordinator VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) in Prevent Blindness Dallas.

Pay: $990 per month BEFORE taxes

Prevent Blindness Texas (PBT) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent blindness and preserve sight. We focus our efforts on children at risk of vision loss and on aging adults who are more at risk of age-related eye diseases. Our programs include:

• Vision screenings for adults and children

• Vision screener training for volunteers

• Vouchers for free eye exams and glasses via our network of partnerships

As a Development and Fundraising Coordinator VISTA, you will perform the following duties:

1. Develop and comprehensive Fundraising plan for the Dallas office of Prevent Blindness Texas
2. Create and build a Leadership Council of community stakeholders to focus on special event fundraising and train the council
3. Create one new special event with a fundraising goal and purpose, based on best practices and the latest trends in special events
4. Create logistical plan for the management of special events
5. Assist in the planning and implementation of the Prevent Blindness Texas strategic plan as it relates to development
6. Create innovative and effective ways to improve PBT visibility through fundraising and public relations strategies
7. Identify and cultivate new development partnerships in the community, focusing on the corporate sector
8. Work collaboratively with the Regional Director to research and write foundation grants, focusing on new foundations
