Children Striving Together is a non-profit organization operating out of the city of Compton, CA. Our mission is to assist at risk youth as well as youth of the community for ages 2-18 years of age. Mentoring is a very important aspect of fostering our youth's growth and Children Striving Together has finally added that entity to our Non-Profit. We want our Mentors to be the best they can be for our youth. Children Striving Together (CST) Youth Mentor Program matches a mentor with a student in one-to-one relationships for a rolling calendar year. Through these relationships, as well as group activities, our matches share friendship, support, and fun. Mentors and mentees get together at least twice a month. Both mentors and mentees make a commitment to spend time together throughout the rolling calendar year. They can participate in activities that they both enjoy. The mentors are not private tutors, although sometimes pairs decide to work on homework together. We plan social group activities on a monthly basis that all mentor/mentee pairs will participate in. We are also available to answer questions, offer support and help matches work through challenges that may arise. If you are interested, please inquire and we will send over all details with 24-48 hours of receiving your inquiry.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to support at-promise youth and children in L.A. and Orange Counties by offering a variety of activities and events that foster their growth as individuals. We provide programs based on children’s interests, including art, sports, music, dance, volunteer opportunities, high school and college prep workshops, and more.
Description
CST members have access to a diverse experience that combines fun, skill-building, community, and personal development. Our programs grow and evolve based on the needs and interests of our local youth and provide a safe outlet for them to explore their talents. One of our main goals is to teach children that their struggles and obstacles don’t determine their lives; they can always overcome adversity with help and hard work. Our members leave CST with leadership and social skills, academic improvement, and a built-in community they can rely on. Our main focus is to offer our youth the life skills that will positively shape their futures. The future of CST is bright. Our initial goal was to impact the world starting with our community; we’re now well on our way. We hope to eventually have youth centers worldwide, offering greater academic support, activities, and events catered to their specific communities, and a chance to add value to the lives of youth everywhere.
