The Cat Network is a mostly foster-home based rescue group (90%), but we have been fortunate enough to renovate a building that belongs to the Clowder House -- the "purple building". It is directly across the street from the Clowder House @ 3134 Wyoming, at the corner of Wyoming and Gravois Ave, in the city.
We have a room of Cat Network cats (10-15) that will need daily care -- making sure there is food, water, that the litter boxes are scooped and that anything that needs washed is replaced with clean items....and of course PLAYING and LOVING on the cats!
We are looking for responsible adults 21 or older -- OR families with teenage children -- to come Monday - Saturday to take care of the cats.
The hours could be flexible, once the volunteer(s) are trained. Volunteers would need to come and work with a current volunteer (Thursday afternoon (3:30) or Sunday (11am)) to be trained before starting to work on their own. If the volunteer wants to work with an existing volunteer, instead of on their own -- we can also work that schedule out for Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday -- just let us know!
All of our cats are adoptable, so will be friendly -- but possibly shy at first.
Volunteers will need to sign a waiver, since this will be working with live animals. Anyone under the age of 18 will have to have a parent or guardian sign the waiver for them. Anyone under the age of 21 will need to have someone OVER the age of 21 present with them while they volunteer.
Help us continue to help the cats of St. Louis!!

Mission Statement
The Cat Network is an all volunteer, no-kill, cat rescue organization in the greater St. Louis area. We are a non-profit, 501-c-3 organization. We do not have a shelter, so we care for our foster cats in our homes. We are currently caring for over 100 permanent foster cats. We accept (rescue) cats or kittens who we can hopefully re-home. Generally we prefer to rescue cats/kittens from local animal control shelters, but will occasionally accept owner turn-ins.
Description
After rescue, our cats/kittens are quarantined for at least 14 days to assure that they are disease free. This also gives us time to provide the necessary vet care. All newly rescued cats/kittens are taken to one of our affiliated vet offices for a complete check-up. They will be given age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, and will be combo tested for feline leukemia/feline aids. If old enough, the cat/kitten will be altered. Our cats/kittens are also treated for intestinal and external parasites.
All of our cats/kittens live in caring foster homes. Our 'adoptable' foster cats/kittens participate in regularly scheduled adoption events at local PetSmart and Petco stores.
