Cranbrook Institute of Science is looking for volunteers with sewing, woodworking, and mechanical skills to work with the Family Discovery Center. We are upgrading our facility and adding new content. Current needs are - building a wooden clothing rack, adding permanent dividers to the Discovery Boxes, safety improvements to a bird viewing stand, and sewing cultural clothing, a child’s size dashiki and Native American ribbon shirt (fabric and patterns provided). Will work around your time availability.

Founded in 1904 by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Booth, Cranbrook is an internationally renowned center for art, education and science located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Cranbrook Institute of Science is an integral part of that community, having served area schoolchildren and families since its creation in 1930.
