ORGANIZATION: ODO ACHIEVEMENT CENTER

The Program Facilitator's main objective is to present monthly workshops, presentations and discussions to the target audience of teens. Other audiences may also include parents, collaborating organizations and stakeholders. Group topics encompass a variety of subjects including HIV/STD Prevention, College Prep, Leadership Cultivation and much more. Responsibilities include advertising and outreach of scheduled activities, preparation for upcoming events, group facilitation and other duties as needed. The candidate will represent the organization at community events and participate in meetings or forums related to program development. The Program Facilitator reports to the Executive Director and must be proficient in the following skills: public speaking, communication and listening skills, conflict resolution, team building and organizing, managing and redirecting group dynamics. College students and Irvington, NJ residents are encouraged to apply.

Description

Odo (A/ dûh) in the Yoruba language means teenager and in most African communities the youth are revered as equally as the elders. Odo Achievement Center focuses on promotion of teen development from the demeanor of children to the cultivation of responsible young adults. The Center is a place for teens where they will have access to programs offered outside of the school setting.
