Hours: Flexible, 4 hours per week between the hours of 10am - 4pm; weekdays

In partnership with the Greater Merrifield Business Association, PRS is planning its 31 st annual GMBA Holiday Luncheon and Auction. Proceeds from the event support PRS’ programs provided to individuals living with serious mental illness and/or facing life crises in our community.

Our 2016 luncheon will take place in December (date tbd) at a hotel in the Tysons / Merrifield area.


The intern will:

  • Solicit and secure auction items
  • Write letters
  • Make outreach calls
  • Send solicitation e-mails
  • Develop event marketing materials
  • Help set-up auction leading up to and on day of event, including:
    • auction item displays
    • auction bid sheets
    • Create event program with details of auction packages
    • Assist with event guest registration and check-out


  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • High degree of empathy with PRS’ client populations
  • Event planning experience
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising department
