The Chesapeake Humane Society provides twice daily care to available cats in the adoption center at the Chesapeake Petco (Hanbury).
We are looking for volunteers willing and able to commit to morning (9:00-10:30am) and evening (6:30-8:30pm) shifts.
Once a week would be great ... twice a month would work too ... want to do more than that ... we can accommodate!
Duties involve cleaning of cat apartments, feeding, and interaction with the cats and the public.
Current openings: Monday evenings (6:30-8:30pm)as well as alternating Saturday evenings (6:30-8:30pm).
*If you are interested in shifts other than those listed as open please reach out and get on the list-staffing changes due occur and we are always training to cover for vacations, illness, etc...

Founded in 1972, Chesapeake Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is funded by private donors - we do not receive government subsidies. The Society supports the homeless animals of Chesapeake in the following ways:
* Providing low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services
* Offering financial assistance to shelter animals in immediate medical need
* Serving on the Chesapeake Animal Services Advisory Board
* Lending countless volunteer hours to enhance the lives of shelter pets
* Running a media program that advertises adoptable pets
* Hosting off-site adoption events to advertise adoptable pets
