OUR #NCPOWERGIRLS AGES 6 TO 18 NEED YOU!

Help us plan our Annual fundraiser that benefits adolescent and teen girls in Guilford County

ABOUT THE EVENT

We are so excited about the upcoming Annual High Tea & Silent Auction fundraiser, which is in its 6 th year! This event is EGNC’s signature fundraiser and benefits year-long programming and scholarships for the organization’s Power Girl members. Delicious Food and traditional teas will be served and tea hats are encouraged to be worn by all attendees. The annual theme of the event is "Wear Your Crown, Embrace Your Royalty."

The event will feature entertainment by our own #NCPowerGirl members ages 6 to 18, a silent auction full of great items to buy, door prizes, and many vendors usually ranging from jewelry, handbags, business services, natural products and so much more!

It doesn’t stop there! We will be honoring a few powerhouse women in our community as our annual Women of Distinction Awards for their hard work in the community and in their field. We will also have a dynamic keynote speaker and MC to make the event exciting as we fellowship, eat, win prizes, shop and take photos.

WHAT WE NEED

All of what we mentioned above takes a few good people like you to make it all come together! Whether you can be part of the event planning team, whether you can donate items or money, or/and be part of the day of event volunteer team, we need you! THE NEED TO HELP

Low self-esteem in adolescents has been widely established as a critical predictor in future decision making, academic success and developing depression as adults. Nearly 75 percent of girls with low self-esteem reported engaging in negative activities and though the majority of girls at age 9 reported feeling confident, assertive and felt positive about themselves, by the time they reached high school fewer than a third felt that way. Empowered Girls of North Carolina is designed to empower girls at a young age so they can grow and develop into strong young women. Starting at ages 6 through to 18, we ensure that our #NCPowerGirl members have anti-bullying, leadership, self-esteem, STEM, financial literacy, and college-prep workshops and summer camp classes.

In order to run these programs, we must engage in fundraising and fund development, so events like our Annual High Tea & Silent Auction fundraiser is the biggest fundraiser we host every year in order to finance continued empowered education. If you can help us make a BIG impact, then continue to read...

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE!

Mission Statement

Enhancing the quality of girls’ lives by providing programming that builds integrity, respect and self-worth.

Description

We exist to empower girls to become responsible, self-reliant, successful women. Confident girls with respect for self and others will develop into confident, respectful young women. These girls are more likely to stay in school and become active, productive citizens in their respective communities.

Because we hold a deep belief in the power of connecting girls across race, class, culture and ethnicity, Empowered Girls deliberately delivers program opportunities that allow diverse groups of girls to come together to discover and celebrate both their commonalities and their differences.
