ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

Look Good Feel Better , a partnership of the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and the Professional Beauty Association, is a program for women experiencing appearance related side effects from chemotherapy or radiation treatment for any form of cancer.

Volunteer Licensed Beauty Professionals (cosmetologists and estheticians)

are the heart of Look Good...Feel Better and the hands-on volunteers who actually conduct the LGFB workshops. They may or may not be PBA | NCA members. Many volunteer licensed beauty professionals (cosmetologists and estheticians) are former cancer patients and their participation is encouraged; however, they should be at least one year out of treatment.

Volunteer licensed beauty professionals (cosmetologists and estheticians) must:

* Complete Look Good...Feel Better certification training.

* Commit to volunteering a certain number of hours each month/quarter/year (depending on local program activity) for group and/or one-on-one programs. In most areas, volunteers are asked for a time commitment of 4 hours every other month to conduct workshops.

* Participate as part of a LGFB volunteer team to support local LGFB programs.

* Abide by the LGFB Guiding Principles and program format.

* Participates in an on-demand LGFB Update Class at least once every two years.
