Rural Stearns Faith in Action provides both volunteer and professional services to seniors and those facing difficult life situations to aid in maintaining independence. Some of the services our volunteers provide include: transportation, friendly visiting, respite care, home making, simple home repair, and more.
Currently we have a need for a respite volunteer in the Richmond area. Ideally, the volunteer would be able to commit to visiting at least one time per week, and would be there to provide companionship. When providing respite care as a volunteer you are not providing any direct care- you would not be responsible for doing things that you wouldn't do as a friend.
Respite care is an ideal fit for a calm, relaxed person who enjoys visiting but also enjoys some quiet time. You might bring a book or a quiet hobby to work on while providing respite. This is a very peaceful, rewarding way to give back.

Description
Our program volunteers serve seniors and people with difficult life situations living in the rural communities of Stearns County with the ultimate goal of keeping people in their homes as long as possible. We do this through offering transportation, homemaking, chore services, home modification/repair, friendly visiting, respite care, and the list goes on.
