Do you love cats and have the time to volunteer to help take care of them? Are you DEPENDABLE and RELIABLE? We have scheduled shifts open for care taking volunteer positions at PetSmart in La Jolla where we house some of our cats.
Duties include refreshing food and water, scooping litter, cleaning of the cattery, brushing and playing with the cats, and evening and weekend volunteers also process adoptions that have already been pre-approved.
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday shifts are scheduled for 6PM to 8PM which would include care taking as above, as well as processing approved adoptions. Saturday and Sunday shifts are scheduled for 12PM to 2PM or 2PM to 4PM, also including care taking as above, as well as processing approved adoptions.
Mondays and Wednesdays are generally not scheduled adoption days, and therefore the hours to go in and take care of the cats is more flexible, however, we still want someone who can go in the mid to later afternoon or evening - not mornings.
Our rescue cats are totally dependant on volunteers. There are no paid positions, but it is still VERY important that we have volunteers who are commited, dependable and have reliable transportation. It is extremely important that our volunteers show up as scheduled or we risk losing our spot at Petsmart.
