Volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels lunch program will pick up meals in coolers/thermal bags from our local meal preparation center, deliver the meals to the Wellness Center, and return the delivery bags to the meal prep site. (Whaleyville/East Suffolk Rec/Whaleyville)
Seniors come together at the Wellness Centers for socialization and nutrition. Volunteers are welcome to visit with the seniors at the center after delivering the meals if they chose (covid restrictions and regulations may vary by site). This is so much more than just a meal, this is love, comfort, and compassion-- delivered daily.
Deliveries are Monday through Friday and meals must be picked up by10:30 am and delivered directly to the center. Volunteers may chose the best day for them. We're looking for individuals who can commit to volunteering at least once a week to delivering meals to at least one Wellness Center.
