Currently, the Dare2B team is seeking part-time volunteers to help expand efforts throughout New York City. Volunteers will benefit from a ground floor opportunity with an early-stage non-profit joining a diverse and proven team of entrepreneurs in international business and program development.

Reports to Lead Event Coordinator

Classification - Part-time Volunteer

This position requires the following with flexibility offered:

3-month commitment is highly appreciated

6-7 hours (2 days a week)

Available office hours - Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am - 4:30pm

Job Description

Under general direction and supervision, the Event Coordinator is responsible for independently conducting the day-to-day operational management and the successful planning and implementation of all activities pertaining to events.

  • Coordinate details of events such as workshops, galas, volunteer projects and outreaches
  • Create guest list
  • Manage RSVP list
  • Visit venue to plan layout sitting and decoration
  • Develop experience for new events
  • Research new event spaces
  • Track and properly document all activities and complete necessary reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with PR, Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer to plan, promote, manage and execute special events
  • Secure event volunteers (photographers/videographers, hosts, etc.)
  • Trouble-shoot activities the day of the events

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Volunteer must bring own laptop to work on assigned tasks
  • Internet, Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Creative and social-media savvy
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to high standards, customer service, integrity, and ethics
  • Strong desire to want to improve our community and the quality of life for the homeless children we serve
  • ?BONUS -project management skills

  • innovative solutions that equip and inspire homeless children, ages 5 - 17, to break the cycle of poverty.
