Here's the Shop!

Bici Centro - Santa Barbara's community DIY bike shop - is always looking for volunteers to keep our mission moving forward. We're teaching people how to fix their bikes themselves, and selling used bikes at reasonable prices. These two services get more people on bikes in SB that might not otherwise be able to afford it. Our services are built around one function: learning! Come down to Bici on a Volunteer Tuesday, between 12-7, and hang out with a great group of people. No experience fixing bikes is requried, just a willingness to learn. If you know how to work on bikes, you can jump right in to a project. The bottom line is that Bici is just a great place to spend some time, and we take great care of our volunteers, with discounts, parties, and other appreciations.

About MOVE Santa Barbara County

Location:

506 E. Haley Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93103, US

Mission Statement

MOVE Santa Barbara County advocates for equitable county-wide infrastructure for walking, cycling, and public transit and empowers and educates residents to choose active and sustainable forms of transportation.

Description

MOVE Santa Barbara County believes that every street should be safe for every user, that every community every hour should be connected by public transit and that major infrastructure projects that create equitable transportation options should be advanced throughout Santa Barbara County.

Our youth education program includes teaching youth pedestrian and bicycle safety skills, how to ride a bicycle, bicycle mechanics and leads youth on walks and rides to practice skills that will keep them safe.

We offer educational opportunities for adults who want to improve their mechanical skills, learn to ride a bike for the first time, or improve their street riding skills.

Our Do-It-Yourself bike shops are community hubs where people of all walks of life can come together, volunteer to help others, or learn the skills needed to keep their bikes in safe riding condition. We have bikes for sale, bike parts for sale, opportunities for you to repair your own bike assisted by a skilled mechanic, or mechanics on hand if you need to drop off your bike for maintenance or repair.

We provide Bike Parking ("Bike Valet") at events which encourages riding, reduces the need for vehicle parking and supports environmental sustainability.
