Mission Statement

Our Mission Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ

Our mission, extending the healing ministry of Christ, comes from the study of scripture. Jesus spent a great deal of his ministry on this Earth healing the sick, helping those in need, and offering them a new and better life. Our hope is that through our caregivers, His healing touch will be felt by all who come to us for care.

Our mission strengthens our commitment to health care. Because of our faith as part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we focus on healing the whole person-mind, body and spirit.

In fact, Seventh-day Adventists believe that spiritual and emotional health are vital elements to overall well being. It is this belief that guides us in all we do at Florida Hospital and it has helped us to create one of the finest health care facilities in the U.S., if not the world.

Description

Community

Our commitment to improving the quality of life of our patients, family, friends and neighbors guides us in everything we do at Florida Hospital. Not just here in Central Florida, but around the globe as well. Our holistic approach to healing the whole person - mind, body and spirit - is based on the healing ministry of Christ. It guides us in everything we do and have done for more than 100 years. We express this commitment in many ways, from sponsorships of community events and organizations such as the Girl Scouts to providing members of our community with ongoing education about a range of important health topics as well as free screenings. We never turn away a patient because of his or her inability to pay. Nor do we ever turn away from our duty to help those who are most in need, whether they are across the street, across town or across the globe.

We are particularly proud of our Healthy 100 program, which not only recognizes the role we’ve played in the community’s health for the last century, but also focuses on health and wellness education, nutrition, fitness and lifestyle choices that will help you live a long and active life, hopefully until you’re 100. We not only want to be there for you when you’re sick, but when you’re healthy as well. That is our commitment to you and the community.
