English Language (ESL) Tutors

English classes are offered to our clients on a daily basis. Volunteers are needed to assist students in learning and practicing English. ESL help is especially needed in the beginner’s classes, from 12:00-2 pm. Volunteers may also help during other class times.

ESL volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering at the same time each week, when possible. The students benefit the most when they work with the same conversation partner over a period of time. Volunteers will work directly with ESL coordinator, Rena. First time volunteers should plan on arriving twenty minutes early to receive instruction on how to be an effective English tutor.

Individuals and families are sought to serve as mentors to refugees in Twin Falls. Mentors play an important role in helping refugees adjust to life in the United States. Mentors are assigned to an individual or family for one year. Families with children are highly encouraged to apply.
