It's so easy to get to the grocery store when we want to go. But what if you are an older adult and don't drive anymore? Life can get pretty challenging. You can help these older adults - whether it is once a month or once a week. Interfaith South Shore Regional has more than 900 clients in southeast Milwaukee County who need rides to the grocery store once a week, twice a month or even once a month. We have 240 volunteers helping them. You can be the 241st volunteer. If this is something that would interest you, we'd set you up with one of these amazing older adults. The beauty of our program is that you can help as much or as little as you'd like. We'd find you an older adult whose needs fits with your availabilty. Most of our clients have family - it's just that family can't do everything. Interfaith steps in to fill those gaps.

Mission Statement

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a national community service volunteer network for individuals age 55+ that is sponsored by Interfaith Older Adult Programs, Inc. Together, volunteers build the capacity and further the mission of local schools and non-profit organizations. Consider this your invitation to serve!

Description

How do RSVP members build capacity?

RSVP members take on leadership roles to help build the capacity of schools and non-profits. This can include serving on an Advisory Council or Board of Directors. It can also include serving as a Volunteer Coordinator for a school, a Grant Writer for a non-profit or simply an Advocate among peers.

How do RSVP members further the mission?

RSVP members serve in a variety of volunteer placements at each school or non-profit. These placements range from working directly with clients to helping behind the scenes. Each placement plays a role in helping the school or non-profit to provide services to the community. Whether by serving directly with clients, or by freeing up staff time to do so, RSVP Members help schools and non-profits fulfill their mission.
