Relay For Life of Washington County, VA seeks volunteers for its 2017 event leadership team! The event leadership features 13 key volunteer positions that work in collaboration with the American Cancer Society community manager to plan a fun-filled community fundraising event. The event leadership team is structured to divide responsibilities evenly among volunteers as well as fit into volunteers' busy lives.
Volunteer positions provide the opportunity to use and develop skills in the following areas:
- event planning
- fundraising
- marketing/publicity
- recruitment
Previous experience with Relay For Life is not required, but a passion for finding a cure for cancer and for your community are!
Community members interested in volunteering with Relay For Life are encouraged to attend a volunteer interest meeting on Monday, July 25 at 6:00 p.m. at the American Cancer Society office in Abingdon, located at 230 Charwood Drive. Description
Each year, hundreds of people in Washington County come together to fight cancer through Relay For Life. Teams of family members, friends, and coworkers are formed to fundraise, but more importantly, to celebrate loved ones affected by cancer, to remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this vicious disease. Relay For Life of Washington County is planned by a committed group of volunteers and has raised millions in Washington County over its 20+ year history.
