Volunteers are needed to serve as an ombudsman advocate for local nursing home residents. The goal of the ombudsman program is to ensure the best possible quality of life in Texas long-term care facility. While in the facility, the volunteer will talk with residents, family members and guests to identify any complaints or problem areas. Then, the volunteer will work with those individuals and the staff to resolve these issues. Ombudsman also provide information about rights and procedures and help identify additional resources in or out of the facility. Locations are in Adkins, Elmendorf, Floresville, LaVernia, Pandora, Poth, Stockdale and Sutherland Springs. Your personal touch is needed to develop a rapport with the residents and staff to promptly hear problems and resolve them. All you need is a caring heart and willingness to make a difference.
