ORGANIZATION: Alamo Area Council of Governments/Area Agencies on Aging

  • 10 people are interested

If you have been interested in the past or have been looking for a way to serve in your community, I would like to share this opportunity to volunteer in the Alamo Ombudsman Program!

Volunteer Ombudsmen are advocates for residents in long-term care (LTC) communities who visit residents, listen to their concerns, and advocate on their behalf. Volunteer Ombudsmen also educate residents, families, and staff on protecting the health, safety, and rights of residents. Volunteer visits are flexible, i.e. a few hours each month or 1 hour twice a month.

Volunteers will complete a free 36-hour training course with online classroom training sessions, self-study within the 2 month internship.

We have upcoming trainings starting soon, so if you would like to learn more about becoming a volunteer and our program requirements, please contact me.

We look forward to hearing from you very soon!
