We are looking for volunteers to help with set up, booth management and tear down of our Fourth Friday Fairs. Specific dates are; May 25, June 22, July 27, August 24, September 28, and October 26.
Set up shifts are from 4pm-6pm and include loading and unloading a box truck, helping set the event, setting up tents, moving tables and chairs, hanging and removing signs, etc.
Booth management shifts are from 6pm-9pm with varying needs including face painting, arts, and craft activities, managing the bouncy house, running the information booth, etc. We will provide training and all materials needed to run the booths, we just need someone who is responsible, friendly and likes working with children to help manage booths.
Tear downshifts are from 9pm-10pm and have similar responsibilities to set up, only in reverse.

Carbondale Main Street is proud to help improve and promote the downtown district of Carbondale, Illinois. As a part of the National Main Street program, we specialize in economic development, organization,
design as well as promotion in the downtown area.
We are a resource for the businesses in our district; we offer design assistance grants and promotional tools for all of our retail and service locations, restaurants, and other establishments. We also plan and help to coordinate all of the special events in downtown, including the Friday Night Fairs and The Lights Fantastic Parade! If you are a Downtown business owner, a Carbondale resident, or a visitor to the Capital of Southern Illinois, please feel free to take advantage of what our district offers. We’ll see you Downtown!
