POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide support to the agency, families, and children through direct contact at special events, programs, child care and respite days, and other opportunities as presented.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Must be 18 years or older
• At least one year child care experience is preferred
• Must possess or obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Must possess or obtain valid CPR and First Aid certifications
• Caring and compassionate attitude a must
• Able to ensure the safety and well-being of children
• Able to plan and implement activities to meet the emotional, physical and social needs of the children

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in planning, set-up, and clean-up at special events for children and families
• Facilitate games and activities with children and families
• Provide direct care for children during parent trainings, support group meetings, and respite days including feeding, diaper changing/ bathroom breaks, and safe supervision
• Assist with donation drives and collections
• Sign in and out in on the volunteer log
• Have an understanding of confidentiality and discipline policies
