Our Support Group Facilitators not only lead discussions, prepare the location for meetings, and come up with creative group exercises; they are Ambassadors of Hope that help to end the stigma the exists for those living with mental illness in our community.
NAMI of Hancock County's Support Group consists of both those diagnosed with a mental illness, as well as any friends or family members who wish to support them, or who might need support themselves. Attendees must be age 18 or older.
We provide our facilitators with training and do require that they attend our group for several months to get acclimated to the support group atmosphere.
